Wadi Kurt Bridge Project: A quantum leap to enhance the role of Nador's strategic port

Economy of the East
Construction work has begun on a vital and strategic project near Oued Kert on National Road 16, located at the main entrance to the western Mediterranean port of Nador. This ambitious project seeks to reroute heavy trucks and facilitate their access to the modern port, as part of a comprehensive strategy to develop infrastructure and revitalize transportation in the region.
The Regional Directorate of Equipment in Nador is directly supervising the implementation of this mega project, which includes the construction of a massive bridge spanning 324 meters. The bridge rests on strong and deep pillars that are precisely distributed over eight transverse joints, with varying heights ranging from 16 to 27 meters, giving it exceptional durability and ensuring the smooth flow of traffic.
The new bridge is expected to play a pivotal role in solving the chronic traffic congestion at the port's entrances, in addition to boosting land transportation related to the port's activities. This development will open the way to improve the efficiency of local and global supply and export chains, enhancing Morocco's competitive position in international trade.
This strategic project is part of the overall vision to modernize and develop the infrastructure in the eastern part of the Kingdom. The Wadi Kurt Bridge is expected to become a major logistical landmark and a vital hub that will elevate the western Mediterranean port of Nador and consolidate its position as a major focal point for commercial and logistical activities in northern Morocco.
This project comes in the context of Morocco's national strategy for the development of the logistics sector, which aims to make Morocco a regional logistics platform linking Africa and Europe. The West Mediterranean port of Nador, one of Morocco's newest ports, plays a strategic role in this vision thanks to its privileged location on the Mediterranean coast and its proximity to European markets.
This project also contributes to local economic development in the Nador region, creating new job opportunities and stimulating investments in related sectors such as transportation, logistics and warehousing. The development of this state-of-the-art infrastructure will make Nador a preferred destination for international companies looking for strategic entry points to both African and European markets.
