Dh35 million construction of the Taghzout Dam in Dreouche begins

The Regional Development Company - Services Orient - has awarded the contract for the construction of the Taghzout Dam in the Dreyouche region to SNTRO, the new company for road works and installations, with a financial value of 35 million dirhams, marking an important step in strengthening the water infrastructure in the region.

This ambitious project is part of a comprehensive program aimed at building 11 dams in the eastern region. These vital water facilities will be distributed across the provinces of Berkane, El Dreyoush, Fakik, Tawerirt, Nador and Jarada, reflecting the state's strategic vision to secure the region's water resources.

SNTRO is a national player specialized in the field of works and infrastructure, focusing its expertise on four core areas including road construction and maintenance, flood protection, dam construction, as well as waste center management, making it a reliable choice for the implementation of such strategic projects.

This is not the first time the company has been assigned important water projects. It previously won a contract to build a previous dam worth Dh22.6 million, which has a storage capacity of 610 million cubic meters, highlighting its technical and financial ability to complete projects of this size.

In September 2023, the company won the contract for the construction of the Tarurast Dam in Assa El Zak region, with an investment value of 128.12 million dirhams, confirming its leading position in the water sector and its ability to implement various projects across different regions of the Kingdom.

The Taghzout Dam, along with the other dams planned in the program, is expected to contribute to improving the region's water security and promoting economic and social development, especially in light of the climatic challenges facing the region and the increasing need to secure water resources for agricultural, industrial and domestic activities.
