Economy of the East

Nador is hosting the 10th edition of the Inter-African Cultural Exhibition, which opened in the presence of high-ranking officials and diplomats, including the Director General of the Eastern Region Development Agency and the Consul General of Spain, as well as representatives of African diplomatic missions and civil organizations. The opening evening took place in a festive atmosphere that reflected the prestige and growing importance of this cultural event, both locally and in the African and international dimension.

This session saw the organization of a series of honors that included personalities who contributed to supporting cultural and social work and promoting Moroccan-African cooperation. Among the honorees were Dr. Bouachra, Director General of the Eastern Region Development Agency, the Development Officer of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), and the Regional Delegate for Traditional Industry, in recognition of their contributions to development and cultural rapprochement.

The exhibition kicked off with the wide participation of associations and national and international institutions, confirming the event's establishment as an annual date in the cultural calendar of the city of Nador. The exhibition is organized by the Thysgnas Association for Culture and Development, in partnership with the East Region Development Agency and a number of supporting institutions, during the period from December 12 to 18, 2025.

This edition coincides with the celebration of the International Day of Migration, as the organizers seek to highlight the role played by African communities living in Morocco in consolidating the values of coexistence and integration. The exhibition also aims to shed light on migration issues within the African space, especially in light of the socio-economic transformations the continent has been witnessing in recent years.

The program includes intellectual seminars, workshops and thematic meetings, with the participation of experts, researchers and representatives of international organizations, to discuss public policies related to migration and review some of the experiences adopted in this field. The fair will also host spaces dedicated to cooperatives and associations from Morocco and sub-Saharan Africa, showcasing cultural products and creative industries that reflect the diversity and richness of African identity.

At the same time, the exhibition provides a platform for cultural exchange and positive interaction between migrants and the local community, promoting human relations and the values of solidarity and coexistence. The organizers believe that this edition seeks to present a realistic approach to migration issues, away from stereotypes, while highlighting the role played by women and youth in keeping pace with social transformations and contributing to building sustainable development paths within African societies.
