Economy of the East

On Thursday, December 04, the headquarters of the Regional Directorate of the Ministry of Youth and Sports in Nador witnessed an extensive communication meeting with representatives of the associations participating in the National Exhibition of Youth Institutions, as well as educational staff and civil society actors. The meeting provided a detailed overview of the “Once Upon a Time” program implemented by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication - Youth Sector, as part of the ongoing preparations for the Africa Cup of Nations 2025.

The meeting focused on presenting the objectives of the program related to youth spaces in the region. The speakers emphasized the pedagogical and cultural importance of the parallel activities that will be activated within youth institutions, as a way to consolidate the values of participation and citizenship, strengthen national identity and develop a sense of teamwork among young people.

The meeting was also an opportunity to discuss and organize a communication session between officials and associative actors in order to formulate a unified vision that contributes to the success of the implementation of the program in Nador. The meeting emphasized the need to ensure careful coordination between the various stakeholders in the region to achieve the set goals and keep pace with the continental sporting event that the Kingdom is preparing for.

A youth space to showcase games and parallel workshops
As part of the regional implementation of the program, the Arassi Socio-Educational Complex was chosen as a model institution to host workshops and activities for children and adolescents. This choice is due to the institution's availability of halls and equipment suitable for hosting various events related to the “Once Upon a Time” program.

The complex will also dedicate a special area to show the matches of the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 on a giant screen in the “Fan Zone”, aimed at children, youth and families. The aim is to create an organized sports and entertainment atmosphere in a youth space that is open to the public, allowing them to follow the matches in a collective and educational setting.

This move is part of the ministry's vision to modernize and revitalize youth spaces and enable the generations of the region to keep abreast of the Africa Cup in its social and cultural dimension, in addition to its sporting dimension, in a national context that is preparing to host a continental football event that is considered one of the most important events that Morocco has witnessed in recent years.
