Investment Minister inspects the West Mediterranean port of Nador in preparation for its launch in mid-2026

Economy of the East

Karim Zeidan, Minister Delegate to the Prime Minister in charge of Investment, paid a field visit on Tuesday to the West Mediterranean port of Nador to check on the progress of the final works. The visit comes months ahead of the port's scheduled launch in mid-2026.

The minister was accompanied by Jamal El Shaarani, governor of Nador Province, who inspected the port facilities and surrounding infrastructure. The visit aimed to ensure the readiness of various technical and logistical components in preparation for the port's entry into service.

Upcoming Investment Opportunities

Those in charge of the project provided detailed explanations to the minister and the accompanying delegation on the progress of the works. They also presented the investment opportunities expected once the port is operational, especially in the logistics, manufacturing and energy sectors.

The West Mediterranean port of Nador is one of the Kingdom's new port projects, with a competitive capacity that makes it part of the national port system. The port is expected to be a magnet for foreign investments in the eastern region.

This visit reflects the government's follow-up of major projects on the ground, ensuring that deadlines and quality standards are met. It also underscores Morocco's tendency to rely on infrastructure as a lever for economic development.
