COSOMAR Group achieved positive financial results during the first nine months of 2025, recording a 3.7 percent growth in consolidated revenue to AED 8,037 million. This performance comes despite the challenges witnessed in the global sugar market, reinforcing the group's position in the national market and its competitive presence internationally.
Operational performance in a delicate farming season
The 2025 harvest campaign was characterized by good operational performance, despite low rainfall at the beginning of the year. Intensive coordination with agricultural partners and the support of the Group's field teams contributed to record results in terms of local production.
White sugar production rose to 280,000 tons in 2025, up from 191,000 tons during the previous campaign. This development reflects an improvement in the national production capacity, as a result of the development of follow-up cultivation techniques and the optimization of water resources, in a move that confirms the ongoing path to enhance local sugar security.
Expanding exports through improved refining capacity
COSOMAR benefited from the expansion of refining capacity at the Sidi Bennour refinery, enabling it to enhance its operational flexibility and increase export volumes. The Group was able to maintain its competitive position in the international refined white sugar market, despite unfavorable international conditions during the first half of 2025.
On the financial front, the group's net debt decreased to AED 1,701 million at the end of September 2025, compared to AED 1,823 million in the same period of 2024. Total investments amounted to AED 166 million, mainly focused on upgrades and maintenance of industrial facilities.
Farm Expansion Program
COSOMAR is preparing for a new agricultural campaign with favorable conditions for the cultivation of cane and sugar beet, as part of a program to expand cultivated areas and increase national production. The improved refining capacity in Sidi Bennour will provide additional opportunities to expand exports and exploit international markets.
As part of its strategy for national and international diversification and sustainable growth, the group is launching a project at its Casablanca refinery that aims to reduce carbon emissions and utilize resources efficiently.
