On Wednesday, February 04, 2025, the public prosecution specialized in financial crimes at the Fez Court of Appeal decided to dismiss the complaint filed against Abdelhafid Jaroudi, president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the Eastern Province, along with Tawfik El Dakhma, the regional director of the same chamber. The decision came after studying the elements and contents of the file, according to informed sources.
The Public Prosecution issued its decision under file number 125/3222/2025, based on the legal powers vested in it to investigate complaints related to financial crimes. This judicial body is specialized in examining files related to financial cases and taking appropriate decisions based on the results of the research and preliminary investigations.
The context and dimensions of the complaint
This case is part of the ongoing debate about the management of elected institutions in Morocco, especially those related to the economic sector. Such cases raise questions about the mechanisms of transparency and accountability in the management of representative institutions, with the need to respect the applicable legal procedures and the presumption of innocence.
The Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Services of the East Region is an elected institution representing the private sector in the region and plays a role in revitalizing the economic movement and supporting local businesses. The decision by the Public Prosecution remains a standard judicial step in the ongoing proceedings, and does not necessarily mean the end of all forms of potential legal follow-up in the future.
