Nador: New road station opens and old ones close this month

Economy of the East

The Nador community issued an official decision No. 159, dated November 10, 2025, to open the new road station on November 20, 2025. This decision comes after years of delays related to works, road connection and organizational procedures, putting an end to a long process of waiting.

Community president Sleiman Azouagh signed the decision based on several legal references, including the honorable dahir related to the collective charter and laws regulating the transportation sector. The decision was also based on the ministerial decree issued last June, which obliges public transportation operators to operate from the approved road station.

Closing old terminals and relocating activities

The decision stipulates that the new road station located at the entrance to the city of Nador on National Road 19 will be put into operation. At the same time, the two old stations located at the intersection of the Royal Army and Red Sakia streets, and at the intersection of Moulay Ismail and General Meziane streets, will be closed.

The decision also includes the closure of all ticket sales points associated with the former stations, with all activities moving to the new structure.

New regulations to regulate the sector

The decision prohibits public transport operators from picking up or dropping off passengers outside the new station, and prohibits opening ticket sales points outside the new station. Operating outside the new station is a clear violation of the law.

The decision obliges companies and transportation professionals to update their data and direct passengers to official routes, in line with the ministerial decree to consolidate transportation services in framed stations.

Repeated postponements before deciding

On September 17, Nador announced the postponement of the opening of the new road station. At the October meeting, it was decided that the old stations would continue to operate until a new date was set. The Nov. 10 decision settles this controversy by setting a final date for the opening.

The Community considers that the opening of the new station will contribute to the organization of the city's transport sector, modernize the passenger reception areas, and ensure better control of ticket sales and daily flows. The decision will be transmitted to the collective services, the security authorities and the competent external services for implementation starting from November 20, 2025.
