Hujaira announces one-stop shop to streamline foreign trade procedures

Economy of the East
Omar Hujira, Secretary of State for Foreign Trade, revealed that a single window for foreign trade will be launched by the beginning of 2026. The project aims to standardize and simplify administrative procedures for importers and exporters, putting an end to dealing with multiple entities in a single trade process.
Hujaira's announcement came during the presentation of the Ministry of Industry and Trade's sectoral budget to parliamentarians on Monday, November 10. He explained that economic operators, whether exporters or importers, will no longer have to deal with five or six different entities to accomplish a single transaction.
Simplifying administrative procedures
These reforms aim to end the complexities of traveling between different departments, which the Secretary of State described as a source of delays and confusion for economic operators. Hejira emphasized that the single window will provide a single point of contact, which will shorten time and simplify procedures.
This project is the result of a wide consultation between different stakeholders. A meeting was held the same morning between the directors general of the Customs Department, Tangier Med and the National Port Agency, as well as representatives from the Ministries of Health and Agriculture, which are key sectors for exports.
Anticipated start
The one-stop-shop for foreign trade is set to be launched by the beginning of 2026. Hujaira expressed confidence in the success of the initiative in the medium term, noting that the impact will be gradual at first, but the involvement of all stakeholders will ensure that the desired goals are achieved.
The move is part of the government's efforts to improve the business climate and facilitate foreign trade, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Moroccan economic operators in international markets.
