Omar Annan: The East is “En Panne” and needs an economic boost

Parliamentarian Omar Aanan, representing the Oujda Angad constituency for the Socialist Union of Popular Forces, described the eastern region as “En panne,” meaning almost at a standstill. This came during an oral intervention at the parliamentary dome on October 20, 2025, where he stressed that the region is neither fast nor slow, but suffers from a state of semi-developmental stalemate.

Annan, who represents the Socialist-Federal Opposition team in the House of Representatives during the 2021-2026 legislative term, explained that the eastern region needs a strong boost on the economic level to move the wheel of development. In his intervention, the parliamentarian focused on the need to revitalize development in the region by attracting investments and creating job opportunities.
