Saidia, a Moroccan tourist destination on the Mediterranean coast, has reached an exceptional milestone by receiving the Green Destination Award, becoming the first African destination to receive this prestigious international honor in the field of sustainable tourism, reflecting its deep commitment to preserving the environment and developing a responsible tourism model.

Green Destinations, accredited by the World Council for Sustainable Tourism, awarded this certification in recognition of Tanmia Saidia's continuous efforts to balance economic development with environmental conservation and the well-being of the local population. This achievement is in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and places Morocco among the leading countries in the field of environmental transformation in the tourism sector.

During the 2025 International Green Destinations Conference held in Montpellier, France, Saïdia received three international honors in one go. The destination was awarded a Bronze Green Destinations Award after achieving an outstanding score of 6.4 out of 10 points in the audit, reflecting the seriousness and transparency of its management of sustainable practices.

It also received the Quality Coast Award, which recognizes exemplary initiatives in protecting and valuing the coastline. In addition, Saïdia has been included in the global “Top 100 Stories 2025” list, which includes the most inspiring destinations for their concrete actions in favor of responsible tourism.

The culmination of these awards reflects the ambitious vision of Tanmeyah Saïdia, which has placed sustainability at the center of its development strategy. The destination works to marry excellence, hospitality and environmental awareness through innovative projects that include rational management of water and energy resources, the valorization of natural and cultural heritage, and the active involvement of local communities in the development process.

With this global recognition, Saïdia is positioning itself as an African destination for sustainable tourism, carrying a new image of responsible and authentic travel. This coronation strengthens the destination's international presence and positions the Kingdom of Morocco as a key player in the environmental shifts in the global tourism sector, especially in the rapidly evolving Middle East.
