Nador Regional Council approves social and development projects and postpones school transportation

The regular session of the Nador Regional Council was held on Monday, September 8, 2025, under the supervision of President Said Rahmouni, with the participation of the deputy secretary general, Mustapha Jabbour. This session witnessed the discussion of a variety of priority developmental and social issues for the region.

During this session, the council members were able to approve a number of partnership agreements with several associations working in the sports and cultural fields. At the forefront of these agreements is the partnership with the Rif Nador Youth Football Association, which aims to develop community activities and strengthen the cultural and sports movement within the region.

The session also included a review of important projects aimed at improving the level of public services provided to citizens. These projects include the purchase of ambulances equipped with the latest medical equipment, as well as the acquisition of specialized equipment for cleaning beaches to preserve the coastal environment. The initiatives also included strengthening the electricity infrastructure by reinforcing the network of electric poles, in addition to implementing mosquito control programs in some of the affected areas.

On the social front, the Council approved the signing of a cooperation agreement with specialized women's organizations to support initiatives that seek to empower women and increase their effective participation in the development process at the local level. This move reflects the Council's strong commitment to social issues and the realization of sustainable development goals.

On the other hand, the Board decided to postpone the final decision on the delivery of school transportation buses to a later date, to allow for more detailed studies and a thorough examination of the project. This decision comes within the framework of the Council's keenness to ensure that the process achieves maximum efficiency and fully meets the needs of the educational institutions that will benefit from this service.
