Portrait. Women's cooperatives shine in the East

Economy of the East

Within the framework of the regional exhibition for the East Region, organized by the Chamber of Traditional Industry, there was a distinguished participation of women's cooperatives that provided inspiring models of creativity and hard work. The participants expressed their experiences and aspirations, adding a humanitarian and economic character to the event.

Nouhila Nabirak, president of Noha Choco, a cooperative specializing in traditional and modern sweets, participated for the first time in the exhibition, expressing her pride in the variety of products she offers between salty and sweet. “This is my first participation here in Nador, and I hope to be present in other exhibitions across Morocco,” she said. She praised the role of the Chamber of Traditional Industry in supporting her and opening new horizons for her.

Soumaya Achlehi, a seamstress specializing in traditional and modern clothing, spoke about her long experience in participating in the exhibitions since 2015, noting that this edition was characterized by a high turnout. She thanked the organizers and His Majesty the King for his support for the sector, which reflects the importance of these events in promoting the traditional industry.

Naima Assian, representing the Herbs and Natural Oils Cooperative, highlighted the diversity of its products between natural oils, cosmetics and medicinal herbs. She noted that her cooperative is seeking to transform from individual to collective, which will enhance growth and marketing opportunities. She also expressed her gratitude to those responsible for organizing the exhibition, considering it a valuable opportunity to introduce her products and open new horizons.

This conversation highlights the role of women's cooperatives in developing the local economy, as well as the importance of institutional support in empowering women and incentivizing them to innovate. It also reflects the general trend towards promoting local products and expanding their reach, both regionally and nationally.
